In 2016 we began a risky venture to build our tiny home van out of a 25' Blue Bird Bus. The whole process took around 2 years from the demo stage to layout planning, vehicle maintenance, and eventually the build-out stage. A lot of patience, blood, sweat, tears, and many changes in plans went into this project but we couldn't be happier! We are forever grateful for the many people that contributed to this project and the many lessons we learned along the way.
For us home is not a physical space for us home is where we are together and I think we've always had that from the beginning of our marriages as amazing as this bus has been I think it's being intentional about each other's hearts and for us that's home.
Welcome to our tiny home tour! Birdie is our 1996 25' Blue Bird bus that we, along with the assistance of many talented people, renovated into our home. We had the exterior completely restored, raised the school bus roof 12", and added RV small home windows for optimal homelight and insulation. Inside, the bus is about 185 square feet.
It is equipped with everything we need; a kitchen, couch with storage, dining table, and coffee station. We also have a bathroom with a Nature's Head composting toilet and sink; wardrobe and lofted bed with storage underneath. The bus feels like a small apartment rather than a bus, and we are grateful for how spacious it is. We hope you enjoy seeing our space.
